JOB SUMMARY:
The Communications and Marketing Coordinator plays an integral role in helping with the day-to-day communications and marketing activities, projects and events. Collaborating with communications and marketing team members, and staff across SE Health, the Coordinator supports the implementation of effective communication assets and strategies; manages the departmental mailboxes to ensure timely dissemination of information across SE Health; leads the organization, ordering and allocation of promotional items; and assists with internal, external and special events.
In this exciting role, you'll take the lead in bringing our conferences and events to life. You'll be hands-on, traveling to the office to gather materials and set up for events, ensuring every detail is spot-on for a successful and impactful experience!
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promotional Materials
Coordinate the ordering and distribution of promotional items to support our:
- Business lines
- Communications and marketing
- Internal, external and special events
Ensure a seamless process, from ordering and receiving, to disseminating and accounting
Content Creation and Content Support
- Collaborate with team members to develop content pieces for internal and external channels, including newsletters, website and social media
- Develop content and signage for internal, external and special events
Mailbox Management
- Monitor and maintain the communications and marketing department’s email mailboxes
- Flagging media and high importance emails, emails with communications and story potential and possible partnership opportunities
- Ensure timely dissemination of information across all departments
Events Management
- Assist the communications and marketing team in the planning and execution of events, conferences, and community/political/business line outreach activities
- Collaborate with teams across SE Health to ensure consistency in branding and messaging
- Support the development of promotional items, gifts and marketing collateral, including brochures, flyers, and digital content
- Assist business lines (such as Business Development) to assemble documents, presentations, proposals, etc.
A vehicle and driver's license will be required for travel to head office (90 Allstate Pkwy, Markham, ON L3R 6H3) and setup of events
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Degree or diploma in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a communications or marketing role
Skills:
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in copywriting and content creation
- Experience with email marketing platforms and CRM systems
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus
- Graphic design skills are an asset
