This position is responsible for the overall management of two licensed staffed residential homes – one in North Vancouver and one in Coquitlam – funded by Community living BC (CLBC). Scope includes all aspects of client care and staff engagement while ensuring compliance to Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA) and the Residential Care Regulation (RCR). There are four adults with developmental disabilities living in each home that require support for their activities of daily living. At each home there is a 24hr staffing team numbering between 15-20 union employees. Services delivered include personal care, medication administration, hospitality / food service, housekeeping, recreation, community integration, and general maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Care

· Enhancing quality of life by promoting independence (personal development and self-determination), social participation (interpersonal relationships, social inclusion, and rights), and well-being (emotional well-being, physical well-being, material well-being).

· Client care planning, including the development of individualized care plans (with updates as required) annual individual program planning and quarterly reporting..

· Oversee the delivery of exceptional client centered personal care, medication administration and food service.

· Monitors risk issues and analyzes trends, adapt care as needed.

· Maintains excellent documentation practices - specifically, complete, and accurate care plans, client files, employee files, client personal funds, incident reports, etc.

Staff Engagement

· Interview and select staff to meet ongoing staff requirements.

· Facilitate orientation of new staff.

· Accountable for staff performance expectations and management.

· Manages the education function to support a continuous learning environment and staff utilization of learning opportunities.

· Manage the schedule for all staff and completes timekeeping to support payroll.

· Create a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and fun.

· All other reasonable duties as assigned

Stakeholder Management

· Work closely with both CLBC Analysts

· Collaborate with VCH and FHA Licensing Officers

· Communicate and cooperate with all resident family members, legal representative, POAs, etc.

· Engage each resident’s support network including primary care, allied health, pharmacy, acute care, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Experience managing CLBC Staffed Residential Homes.

· LPN licensed with BCCNP and in good standing, considered an assest.

· Previous community health care experience

· Previous experience of managing teams and coaching to performance

· Current CPR certificate

· Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills

· Excellent time management skills

· Ability to deal with conflict and excellent problem-solving skills

· Vehicle and valid driver’s license

· High level computer proficiency

· Vulnerable sector check, and clear Immunization record
