Position Summary
The Project Specialist (intern) provides support to SE Strategy and Growth projects in the areas of home care modernization, population health and integrated models of care. This includes activities such as market research, literature review, data analysis, partnership development, business planning, program design and implementation/evaluation activities. At the beginning of each internship term, the intern will be assigned to specific projects and the scope of engagement will be determined based on the intern’s learning plan and the status of the assigned project(s). The Project Specialist will contribute to innovation in programs and services through successful engagement with health sector partners, supporting the current and future organizational growth and diversification strategies of SE Health. You will have opportunities to gain deep insights into the translation of SE Health intelligence into home care modernization, population health and integrated models of care.
Responsibilities will be matched with assigned projects (the following are some examples):
- Work with SE Strategy and Growth internal and external partners to research, inform and develop models of care for defined populations.
- Evaluate emerging models of care, considering new and unique ways to demonstrate effectiveness considering the OH’s quintuple aim of system savings, patient outcomes, provider satisfaction, patient experience and equity.
- Explore and analyze opportunities in new markets along with recommendations
Requirement:
- Year 1 or 2 in post-graduate studies in the areas of nursing, health administration, health promotion, public health, or related program
- Must be available for a 4 month or 16-week term
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Self-motivated, ability to take direction and work independently, and work well in a remote team environment, strong verbal, and written communication skills
- Passionate to learn and help make a change in the healthcare industry through innovation
- Strong interest in working in home and community care
