Position Summary
Casual - 1 day/ week, Occupational Therapist, Drivers Assessment and Training (Whitby)
Responsibilities
- Conducting driving assessments (in-clinic and on-road)
- Provide vehicle access assessments for drivers and passengers to enable them to enter / exit a vehicle and stow their mobility devices
- Formulating goals, recommendations and providing client resources
- Planning and supervising client-centered, goal-directed driver rehab programs through driver rehab driving instructors.
- Accepting auto insurance referrals and completion of OCF18s
- Completion of detailed assessment reports, OCF18s and vehicle prescription reports.

Requirements
- A graduate of an accredited program in Occupational Therapy and are a member in good standing of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- Recent experience in managing patients in acute/rehab or community-based rehabilitation programs is preferred
- Reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional, able to work effectively and collaboratively with rehab assistants as well as with a high-performance interdisciplinary rehabilitation team
- Sound knowledge of community resources is an asset
- Effective interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- A positive work and attendance record is essential
- Ability to adapt to new computer applications
