Position Summary:
The Portfolio Manager is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of programs/projects that support SE Health’s strategic objectives. Reporting to the Director, TMO, this role ensures the successful planning, execution, and governance of numerous enterprise level initiatives and programs, driving value and alignment with organizational priorities. The Portfolio Manager will work closely with business leaders, program/project managers, and other stakeholders to optimize resources, manage risks, and enhance program delivery efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Portfolio Management & Governance
- Oversee a portfolio of strategic programs/projects, ensuring alignment with SE Health’s mission and business objectives.
- Establish and maintain portfolio governance frameworks, prioritization criteria, and reporting mechanisms.
- Monitor program performance, interdependencies, risks, and financials, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Collaborate with senior leadership, business units, and external partners to ensure alignment and effective decision-making.
- Facilitate portfolio review meetings and provide executive-level insights on program health, risks, and financial impacts.
- Translate complex portfolio data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
Process Improvement & Best Practices
- In collaboration with the Project Management Office Director, develop and refine portfolio management processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency.
- Enable best practices in program governance, risk management, and financial oversight.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and alignment across the organization.
Resource & Financial Optimization
- Optimize resource allocation across the program portfolio, balancing capacity, demand, and priorities.
- Manage budget oversight for programs, identifying cost-saving opportunities and financial risks.
- Support business case development and ensure data decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification is an asset.
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in program and portfolio management, preferably in healthcare, not-for-profit, or service-based organizations.
- Strong expertise in program governance, stakeholder management, financial planning, and risk assessment.
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and influence at all levels.
- Experience implementing PMO frameworks, Agile methodologies, and change management strategies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in program and portfolio management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, monday.com, or similar).
