Job Summary:
The Sr. Analyst, Portfolio Performance & Insights enables data-driven enterprise decision-making by tracking portfolio performance, analyzing benefits realization, and generating executive-ready insights across the organization's transformation portfolio. This role is the analytical engine of the Portfolio Governance & Orchestration team, responsible for monitoring initiative outcomes, validating value delivery, and surfacing performance trends that inform strategic prioritization and investment decisions. 
Working closely with the Manager, the role synthesizes complex portfolio data into clear, concise insights for senior and executive leadership, highlighting trade-offs, risks, and value realization patterns. The Sr. Analyst, Portfolio Performance & Insights focuses on performance analysis, benefits tracking, and insight generation, partnering with the Portfolio Analyst who focuses on operational coordination (intake, roadmap, dependencies).

Key Accountabilities:

Benefits Realization & Outcome Tracking 

  • Implement and maintain the enterprise benefits realization framework, including benefit definitions, measurement approaches, tracking protocols, and reporting cadence.
  • Present, educate and support business and project teams to identify, plan for and transition project benefits in line with the Framework
  • Partner with delivery teams and strategy team to ensure benefit hypotheses and value measures are clearly defined, quantified, challenged and baselined for each major initiative at project inception. 
  • Track and validate benefits of delivery throughout initiative lifecycles and post-implementation, comparing actual outcomes to business case projections. 
  • Work with the Manager and Finance to conduct financial analysis including ROI validation, cost-benefit tracking, and value realization variance analysis. 
  • Support the development of quarterly portfolio value realization reports, highlighting initiatives delivering/underdelivering benefits, realization trends, and providing root cause analysis and recommendations. 
  • Maintain inventory of benefits transitioned from initiatives into business-as-usual operations, supporting ongoing benefit ownership and realization tracking post-project close.
  • Identify benefit realization patterns and best practices to improve future business case accuracy and value delivery.

 

Portfolio Performance Analysis & Insights 

  • Engage Finance team to attain insight into budget, spent, variance to inform portfolio-level insights
  • Liaise with Enterprise Risk Management to align portfolio reporting with the ERM framework, translating risks and emerging issues into decision-ready insights for leadership.
  • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date portfolio reporting covering initiative status, milestones, risks, dependencies, and delivery health.
  • Track portfolio level performance trends and highlight emerging risks requiring leadership attention.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and timeliness across portfolio reporting artifacts.
  • Generate insights and recommendations from portfolio data that inform prioritization, sequencing, and investment decisions
  • Translate complex portfolio data into clear, actionable insights that answer strategic questions for leadership.

 

Executive Ready Insights & Decision Support 

  • Synthesize portfolio data into clear, concise insights for senior and executive leadership, highlighting patterns, trade-offs, risks, and performance trends that inform prioritization and investment decisions.
  • Support preparation of materials for portfolio governance forums, leadership reviews, and executive discussions.
  • Identify patterns, risks, and tradeoffs that inform prioritization and sequencing decisions, conveying through reports and communications.
  • Contribute to the design and continuous evolution of multi-level scorecards (enterprise, board, portfolio) to support governance and strategic alignment.

 

Portfolio Performance Dashboards & Visualization 

  • Design and maintain portfolio performance dashboards using PowerBI, Monday.com, or equivalent visualization platforms, providing real-time visibility into portfolio health. 
  • Create visual representations of portfolio data (roadmap timelines, initiative status, risk heat maps, benefits tracking, capacity utilization) tailored to different audiences. 
  • Automate data collection, workflows and dashboard refresh where possible to reduce manual effort and improve data currency. 
  • Support teams in contributing high-quality portfolio data to enable traceability and effective portfolio measurement.
  • Ensure dashboard usability and accessibility for stakeholders at different levels (executives, managers, delivery teams). 
  • Continuously improve dashboard design based on user feedback and evolving leadership needs.

 

Governance Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Support governance forum preparation by contributing performance data and insights to materials. 
  • Track performance measurement improvements based on delivery feedback and leadership requests. 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of portfolio reporting tools, templates, and KPIs.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree                    
  • Preferred field of study: Business, Strategy, Analytics, Economics, Management, or a related discipline.
  • Years of Experience in Role: 4 - 6 years of experience

 

Others  

  • Progressive experience in portfolio analysis, PMO, transformation, strategy, or performance reporting environments. 
  • Experience supporting senior leadership through data analysis and structured reporting. 
  • Proven experience operating benefits realization frameworks


Additional Skills/Abilities Required:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex portfolio data into clear, executive‑ready insights.
  • Financial analysis skills to assess investment performance, evaluate business cases, and track actuals against forecasts 
  • Ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and surface actionable insights 
  • Experience with scenario analysis and data-driven decision support for portfolio trade-offs 
  • Proficiency in data visualization and dashboarding tools to create clear, concise portfolio reporting and insights 
  • Advanced skills for data analysis, modeling, and reporting 
  • Ability to track initiative performance, including progress, risks, dependencies, and outcomes at a portfolio level 
  • Strong attention to detail and discipline in data management, reporting accuracy, and data integrity 
  • Ability to coordinate inputs across multiple teams, validate assumptions, and ensure consistency of performance data 
  • Clear communication skills to translate complex analysis into structured insights for senior stakeholders
  • Strong presentation skills for governance forums and cross-functional working groups; ability to communicate findings senior management 
  • Understanding of portfolio governance, reporting cadences, and value realization frameworks 
  • Ability to support governance forums with structured reporting, insights, and follow-through 
  • Comfort working in complex, enterprise environments with multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and ambiguity
  • Healthcare or regulated industry experience preferred

 

Certifications (Preferred)

  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent exposure to project management
  • PfMP, MoP or equivalent exposure to portfolio management
