Job Role: Lead, Workday HCM (Specialization in Compensation, Benefits and Absence)
Duration: 1 year contract
Location: Hybrid to Markham, ON

This opportunity is ideal for candidates with deep expertise in Compensation, Benefits, and Absence modules, who thrive in dynamic environments implementing and optimizing Workday solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the full lifecycle management of Workday HCM, with emphasis on Compensation, Benefits, and Absence modules.
- Act as the primary liaison between HR, IT, and business units to translate complex organizational needs into effective Workday solutions, mirroring the consultative approach of a Business Transformation Leader
- Coordinate and deliver key tasks in all phases of Workday projects, including discovery, requirements gathering, gap analysis, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and user adoption.
- Support and facilitate system integrations and data migrations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and seamless operation across HR systems.
- Develop and maintain robust business process documentation, training materials, and knowledge transfer resources for HR and system users.
- Oversee system security, user roles, and permissions, following best practices for safeguarding sensitive people data.
- Drive the execution of change management, risk assessment, and issue resolution activities associated with Workday implementations and ongoing enhancements.
- Mentor Workday analysts and project team members, promoting collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Deliver high-quality reporting and analytics for Compensation, Benefits, and Absence providing actionable insights to leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, policies, and standards affecting HR technology operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Workday HCM, including at least 3 years specializing in Compensation, Benefits, and Absence.
- Direct experience performing the duties of a business analyst or specialist during Workday implementations, including requirements gathering, system configuration, and testing.
- Proven record of leading Workday projects or teams in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Exceptional analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to navigate and influence across all levels of the organization.
- Workday certification(s) in Compensation, Benefits, or Absence highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ESA regulations, data privacy, and HR compliance best practices.
