Personal Support Worker

We are looking for part-time (days or evening shifts available) PSWs in North York ( Wilson to Eglington) . There are many reasons why you will want to bring your talent to our team:

    REQUIREMENTS:
  • has a valid CPR and First Aid certification
    1. holds a certificate as a Personal Support Worker from a curriculum approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities or the Ministry of Education
    2. or holds a certificate as a Home Support Worker (Level 2 or 3)
    3. or Health Care Aide from a recognized curriculum with the understanding that workers are moving to 100% PSW status
    4. or holds a valid certificate as a Developmental Support Worker from a community college or licensed private vocational school
    5. or Child and Youth Care (OACYC) and/or has successfully completed the certification exam required to register with the OACYC;
    6. or is an RN/RPN Student with a minimum successful completion of year one
    7. or is a Foreign-trained Nurse, Midwife or Physician; or has a valid certificate as a Personal Attendant, or Personal Attendant +2;
    8. or is a Personal Support Worker (PSW) student (with successful completion of PA+2 level of training and verification of their transcript and household management experience);
    9. or is a graduate of a paramedic program,
    10.  or is an Occupational Therapy Assistant and Physiotherapy Assistant;
  • Availability to work days or evenings and every other weekend
  • A valid driver’s license and vehicle ( asset) 
  • Updated immunization record, clear criminal background check, and Vulnerable sector check is required upon hire
  • A willingness to attain required Saint Elizabeth certifications.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to work well within a changing environment.
  • A demonstrated appreciation for quality improvement processes.
  • A current CPR certificate.
  • Basic computer skills would be an asset
  • This is a physically demanding position and requires hand, arm, and shoulder dexterity, sensory ability, lifting to a maximum of approximately fifty-five (55) pounds, walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement.
  • PSW’s will receive $3.00 per hour for all client care hours as announced by the Government of Ontario. Please discuss this with your recruiter during the interview.
