SE Health is hiring a Casual Registered Nurse (RN) - Journey Home Hospice

This is a question that Journey Home Hospice – operated by Saint Elizabeth Foundation – is answering for patients experiencing homelessness and structural vulnerability. With 13-beds in the heart of downtown Toronto, four beds in Windsor, and an international, teaching and learning program, we are creating specialized trauma-informed, culturally safe, and harm-reducing approaches to care that are innovating care options for people in need in Canada and beyond. Requirements:

• Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• LEAP Certificate Required / Willing to complete LEAP Certificate within 6 months of hire
• Minimum 1 year Hospice Palliative care experience and ongoing continuing education is preferred
• Experience working with vulnerable populations
• Mental Health Nursing Certification or equivalent training preferred
• 1 year Mental Health experience and ongoing continuing education is an asset
• Well-developed interpersonal skills and excellent organizational skills
• Able to work independently as well as part of an integrated health care team (PSWs, RPNs, Physician, Nurses, Hospices Volunteers)
• Effective problem-solving and conflict management skills
• Works well in a changing environment with an appreciation for continuous quality improvement processes
• A current First Aid and CPR certificate is required
• Availability to work 12 hour shifts
