Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Training & Development Manager to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of learning programs that support the organization’s digital transformation initiatives and long-term operational effectiveness. This role will be pivotal in equipping our workforce with the capabilities needed to adopt the next generation platforms we’re currently implementing, ensuring adoption of new emerging technologies into workflow (ex AI), optimizing training efficacy, quality, efficiency, and modality of training, and applying a people-focused/centered lens to T&D activities to drive a culture of exceptional service, continuous improvement, and innovation adoption.

The position has a dual responsibility:  
1. Support learner adoption of the changes to their work resulting from our organization-wide digital transformation. This transformation will result in the implementation of leading-edge technologies to support our clinicians, administrative, leadership, and home office support teams with the tools they need to thrive in the delivery of care and service well into the future.  Project Acorn involves implementing Salesforce for our patient record/staff scheduling system, Workday as our Enterprise Resource Planning system, RL6 for Risk Management, Atlassian for Service Access, and other leading systems to create a vibrant and modern digital ecosystem in support of our enterprise transformation activities.  At its center, this work will include supporting the development of an integrated educational architect strategy, and full accountability for the delivery and execution of learning/training for our people with the collaboration and partnership of our project teams, our consulting support, our Transformation Management Office, our Home Office internal education functions including e-learning and instructional design resources.


2. Support the Training and Development (T&D) of current and future non-clinical operational skill and capability-building.  Over time, and as we move through the initial Project Acorn implementation it will also include T&D for: sustainability and ongoing improvement of flowing from the Project Acorn digital activities; capacity building as human work is augmented with AI and Machine Learning supports; adoption of new skills/capabilities as workflow/jobs/processes are improved and adapted; and deployment and sustainment related to new non-clinical programs introduced to our operational workforce. You will help ensure that SE has the best trained non-clinical workforce in Healthcare, in support of our patients, families, and our people – all to accelerate the impact our caregivers have, and that the organization has as we double-down on our social impact/social enterprise activities.


Key Responsibilities:

Training Strategy & Design

  • Contribute to the development, and lead the execution of, a comprehensive training and development strategy that aligns with the company’s digital transformation roadmap and operational goals.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify capability gaps related to new technologies, digital tools, and evolving business processes; working with internal and external expert resources.
  • Collaborate with business unit leaders, IT, and change management teams to ensure training content supports transformation objectives and process sustainment.
  • Work with project teams to build training that supports individual projects, and aligns with other major Acorn projects; ensure alignment of resources/supports, and coordinate delivery and execution of individual plans under the banner of the larger Acorn education strategy.

     

Program Development & Delivery 

  • Design and deliver blended learning solutions (instructor-led, e-learning, workshops, microlearning) tailored to various roles and digital competencies; coordinate the development and delivery of learning solutions as necessary to ensure scalability and volume of production, using internal and external supports and resources as needed.
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of scalable training programs supporting enterprise systems and using innovative technologies (ex AI, Digital Adoption Platforms, etc)
  • Integrate training into project rollouts and change initiatives, ensuring timely upskilling and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Develop sustainable T&D programs in alignment with Internal Education best practices, approaches, tools, templates, and guidelines, including contributing to and augmenting the quality and efficacy of those assets to continually build towards excellence in workforce education.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce new and innovative modalities and approaches, with learner experience, efficacy, and quality as your North Star.
  • Coordinate, organize, administer, and track compliance of training programs to ensure no staff are left behind, that the experience of training is exceptional for all involved, and to ensure that the organization has accurate training records to support compliance, job assignment, and talent management/mobility enablement.

 

Operational Sustainment

  • Develop knowledge transfer frameworks and continuous learning pathways to reinforce new processes and maintain operational efficiency post-implementation.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of training programs through key performance indicators (KPIs), user adoption metrics, and employee feedback.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and capacity building to support care and business outcomes across operational business lines, working in conjunction with educators and other education-focused resources for a seamless, well-coordinated, and high learner-impact experience.
  • Ensure that T&D programs are developed and delivered with a human-centered design approach, consistent with organizational standards to ensure high quality and efficacy, and that the experience of all involved – learners, leaders, instructors, administrators, etc. is exceptional.

 

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on workforce readiness and skills development as it relates to business transformation and around the critical role that T&D takes in supporting change adoption.
  • Build and manage a team of trainers, instructional designers, or external consultants as needed; and/or work seamlessly with internal resources supporting clinical practice training, professional/administrative learning and development, leadership development, and e-learning production specialty areas
  • Foster a culture of learning and digital fluency across the organization.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience leading training and development programs, with experience focused on at least two digital transformations or large-scale change initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of learning methodologies, instructional design, and adult learning principles.
  • Experience working with enterprise digital platforms (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics) and training tools (e.g., LMS, Articulate, WalkMe).
  • Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible, engaging learning content.
  • Highly organized and service-focused, with an ability to anticipate opportunities and challenges to ensure a top-shelf learning experience.
  • Experience with change management, agile methodologies, with mergers, workforce/business process re-engineering, and developing/contributing to strategic training program design and/or learning architecture would be considered assets.
