JOB SUMMARY: 

SE Health is currently seeking an HCM Technical Solution Lead to lead deployment and support activities in configurations and integrations, co-designing, implementing, and optimizing HCM and Payroll Solutions. This role is expected to handle challenges that arise from functional and technical aspects of SE’s transformation initiative, ensuring our technological solutions meet organizational objectives.

This people-focused transformation journey is aimed at solidifying SE Health’s technology and processes to re-imagine how we continue to provide excellent experiences for clients and staff, streamline processes, and set the business up for future growth to deliver Hope and Happiness at scale.

The Technical Solution Lead will act as a strategic thinker and tactical planner having HCM and Payroll functional expertise, technical knowledge and design skills.  Specializing in Workday HCM and Payroll modules, with appreciation of other HCM technologies, you will act as a senior liaison ensuring technical solutions fit in the existing enterprise environment, align to business needs, promote best practices, and maintain compliance with regulatory and operational standards.

Location: Hybrid in Markham (Travel may be required within Ontario)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Solution design and architecture

  • Lead the configuration of Workday HCM and Payroll modules to meet the specific business, regulatory and operational needs of SE Health. This specifically includes integrating Workday with existing systems and ensuring that data flows accurately across platforms.
  • Develop scalable, secure, and efficient Workday configurations tailored to meet business requirements.
  • Lead the design of robust integrations with functional and technical teams between Workday and external systems (e.g., ERP, tax compliance tools, benefits providers, Rewards platforms).
  • Work closely with internal teams and implementation partners to deliver cohesive and scalable solutions that integrate the required Workday functions with the current and future technological ecosystem within the SE Health environment.
  • Work closely with the Functional and Technical Transformation Leaders to co-design, assess options in design and recommend actionable solutions in Workday or other HR technology solutions.
  • Provide functional and technical leadership necessary to safeguard the integrity of the applications and application environments.
  • Collaborate with and provide oversight to peers including formal/informal requirements and design reviews

Implementation and Operational Support

  • Accountable for the quality of Workday deployments across HR & Payroll capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Project Manager to provide leadership on the implementation activities for Workday solutions and other technology solutions (including identifying actions to configuration, testing, and go-live support)
  • Ensure that data within Workday is accurate and up to date.
  • Support all aspects of data migration and conversion, ensuring data integrity across Finance, HR, and Payroll modules within Workday; as well as to other FIN/HR technology solutions.
  • Ensure architecture and design principles and best practices are adhered to during enhancements and the design and development of additional solutions
  • Oversee the configuration and implementation of system enhancements and solutions to meet ongoing business and user needs
  • Lead efforts to continuously improve the system and processes, based on user feedback and evolving organizational needs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
  • Ensure all configuration changes follow SE Health’s Change Control Process.

Leadership and Development

  • Provide solutions guidance, mentorship, and development to internal teams, including functional SMEs and Champions and HCM specialists.
  • Establish and communicate goals and objectives to your team, coach and encourage teamwork and communication.
  • Lead and navigate in sometimes complex and/or ambiguous situations.
  • Influence organizational change within the scope of your accountabilities.
  • Facilitate and maintain team development and build team capabilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience with Workday HCM.
  • Hands-on experience configuring one or more Workday HCM or Payroll modules.
  • Prior experience in taking an active role in a Workday implementation.
  • Prior experience in defining Workday HCM and Payroll operational support and processes for post go-live support and semi-annual release evaluation, application, testing and deployment.
  • 3+ year’s experience leading a team of IT professionals in support of development/configuration, implementation, and support.
  • Experience with Workday integration tools (e.g., EIB, Workday Studio, PECI, Integration Services, and Workday APIs) and Workday technologies, such as XML, XSLT, SOAP, REST, and Web Services.
  • Experience working with SaaS-based solutions to implement the appropriate governance, oversight, and best practices to effectively manage these platforms.
  • Past experience in identifying and improving organizational and/or team inefficiencies.
  • Proven experience in large-scale ERP and/or Workday deployments, including cross-functional integrations.
  • Year-end payroll processing experience, including T4/T4A, ROE integration, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with Workday US payroll configuration, processes and administration would be an asset

 Certifications

  • Workday certifications (HCM, Payroll and/or specialisms of Workday functional areas) are definite assets.
  • Professional qualifications in HR Capabilities is desirable but not required.
  • Certifications in project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Agile, Scrum) are a plus. 

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Workday architecture (specifically Workday’s HCM modules), configuration, customization, integration, reporting, and testing methodologies and tools
  • Strong knowledge of HR technologies with vision to support organizational goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design innovative solutions to meet complex business needs
  • Ability to lead continuous improvements.
  • Ability to work effectively with business stakeholders, management, vendors, and other IT professionals, specifically in building relationships, managing expectations, and leading small teams.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused.
  • Sound understanding in Risk Management and Compliance; maintaining compliance with regulatory and operational standards
  • Travel may be required within Ontario
