JOB SUMMARY:  

We require the talents of a highly motivated team player with exceptional writing and leadership skills. The candidate needs to be an effective communicator and strong collaborator who thinks strategically, communicates effectively, writes concisely, and utilizes critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills in the role of Proposal Consultant. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work comfortably in a fast paced, deadline driven environment with constantly evolving needs.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports the development and completion of high-quality winning business proposals and presentations, including formal RFX and unsolicited proposals, to ensure adherence to the SE Health proposal process; establishes schedule and key milestones, and ensures deadlines are respected by the proposal team members

  • Interviews and collaborates with Sales Leads and Subject Matter Experts to develop solutions and prepare submission documents which are easily understandable, professionally written, accurate, and client specific

  • Monitors bid sites for potential opportunities, and reviews and contributes to the qualification of new business opportunities to ensure all opportunities are captured and thoroughly qualified

  • Contributes to other key Business Development and Strategy & Growth projects as identified i.e. market intelligence, specific projects, etc. to support the growth of SE Health

 

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Lead the daily monitoring of bid sites, providing key support to the management of Business Development

  • Lead initial identification / qualification process, communication and meetings, and participate in all qualification activities led by Senior Manager Business Development

  • Support end-to-end standard RFX process

  • Ensure adherence to the SE Health proposal process; establish schedule and key milestones, and ensure deadlines are respected by the proposal team members

  • Interview and collaborate with Sales Leads and Subject Matter Experts to prepare submission documents which are easily understandable, professionally written, accurate, and client specific

  • Leverage existing proposal content to increase productivity / enhance effectiveness of proposal process

  • Support Sales Leads and Subject Matter Experts throughout the execution of all steps in the sales process (opportunity qualification through solution design through closing) including the development of presentations, unsolicited proposals, etc. 

  • Work effectively within challenging deadlines and under pressure

  • Independently manage timelines and deadlines and deliver results with limited supervision

  • Meet emerging business needs by routinely monitoring communication outside of traditional business hours and taking action, as required

  • Support / co-lead Business Development projects

  • Participate in and support market intelligence research and RFX / business line specific / innovative procurement research

  • Support corporate knowledge base development and sustainability

  • Support / lead the preparation of various documents, communications, reports, and presentations as required

  • Support / lead Business Development process improvements

  • Support end-to-end Business Development and Strategy & Growth activities, as required

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related discipline is required

  • Minimum of 3 years’ writing and business development experience is desirable

  • Exceptional business writing, editing, and proofreading skills

  • Experience with an established provider of complex services / solutions is desirable; healthcare experience is an asset

  • Proven track record of successful collaborating with Sales Leads and Subject Matter Experts and developing written service models, methodologies, and work plans

  • A high level of strategic and critical thinking, attention to detail, superior planning, time management, and prioritization of skills are a must

  • Analytic and creative thinker who can collaborate with Sales Leads and Subject Matter Experts to develop customized, client-specific solutions

  • Exceptional project management and team leadership skills

  • Ability to work independently and effectively in rapidly changing environment with challenging deadlines, including the management of multiple bids / proposals simultaneously

  • Strong communication skills and experience working with stakeholders at all levels

  • Proven flexibility and self-motivated team player

  • Proven ability to produce high-quality work while facing competing priorities and strict deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize activities and stay focused in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-changing environment

  • Advanced proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required

  • Completion of Shipley training and / or Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) certification is an asset

  • Proficiency with desktop publishing software (InDesign and Photoshop) is an asset
