POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Workday Implementation Project Manager to lead the deployment of Finance, Human Capital Management (HCM), and Payroll modules for SE Health. This is a high-impact role that will drive business and digital transformation across our organization to differentiate employee, candidate and manager experiences, and ensures alignment with privacy, cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture standards.
You will manage the full implementation lifecycle, collaborate with other enterprise-wide initiatives, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver a solution that supports frontline care delivery and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
Lead the end-to-end implementation of Workday Finance, HCM, and Payroll modules, providing expert project management guidance to a multi-disciplinary team.
Scope, plan, and deliver project outcomes using leading tools and practices (e.g., JIRA, Smartsheets, Monday.com) within agreed timelines, often managing concurrent and competing priorities.
Identify and manage complex interdependencies between streams and key partners, ensuring stakeholder engagement plans are aligned across the project.
Maintain clear, detailed project documentation, including project plans, reports, and other artifacts.
Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks/issues, and communicate updates to stakeholders, including executive sponsors, project teams, and business users.
Oversee system configuration, testing, data migration, and go-live readiness.
Ensure that major decisions, including solution design and scope changes, are approved through the established governance process.
Team Leadership
Manage cross-functional teams including HR, Finance, Payroll, IT, and external consultants.
Unite diverse and interdisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration and shared objectives.
Provide coaching and support throughout the project lifecycle.
Leverage vendor and contractor relationships to ensure the right mix of talent and skills is integrated with internal teams.
Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as the primary liaison for internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Facilitate steering committee meetings, executive briefings, and status updates.
Maintain a strong focus on change management to drive adoption of new processes and tools.
Establish clear and consistent communication channels to keep stakeholders engaged and informed, providing regular updates on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Cross-Program Collaboration
Coordinate with other large-scale transformation initiatives to ensure integration and alignment.
Identify interdependencies and manage shared resources and timelines.
Participate in enterprise governance forums and working groups.
Privacy, Cybersecurity & Architecture Alignment
Ensure project activities comply with privacy legislation and cybersecurity protocols.
Collaborate with enterprise architecture and data teams to ensure scalable, secure system design.
Support risk assessments and mitigation strategies related to data protection.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, HR, Finance, or related field.
PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
Experience in healthcare or community care settings is highly desirable.
Skills & Experience
5–8 years of experience leading large-scale ($1M+), strategic, cross-departmental projects with technical complexity and third-party vendors, including 2+ years leading Workday implementations.
Proven success implementing Workday Payroll and managing complex pay structures.
Strong understanding of Workday Core HCM, Compensation, Absence, Financials, and Reporting.
Experience working within privacy, cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture frameworks.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Familiarity with unionized environments and healthcare workforce models.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and conflict resolution skills.
Collaborative leadership style with the ability to work in multi-disciplinary environments.
Superior analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and address issues proactively.
Skilled at working independently and collaboratively, using sound judgment and simplifying complex information for diverse audiences.
Strong attention to detail, logical thinking, and exceptional interpersonal skills.
