With 13-beds in the heart of downtown Toronto, four beds in Windsor, and an international, teaching and learning program, we are creating specialized trauma-informed, culturally safe, and harm-reducing approaches to care that are innovating care options for people in need in Canada and beyond. Requirements:
- Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- LEAP Certificate required / Willing to complete LEAP Certificate within 6 months of hire
- Minimum 1 year Hospice Palliative care experience and ongoing continuing education is preferred
- Experience working with vulnerable populations
- Mental Health Nursing Certification or equivalent training preferred
- 1 year Mental Health experience and ongoing continuing education is an asset
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and excellent organizational skills
- Able to work independently as well as part of an integrated health care team (PSWs, RPNs, Physician, Nurses, Hospices Volunteers)
- Effective problem-solving and conflict management skills
- Works well in a changing environment with an appreciation for continuous quality improvement processes
- A current First Aid and CPR certificate is required
- Availability to work 12 hour shifts
