Project Summary
The Equitable Access Intern will support the SE Foundation team in identifying practical, ethical, and feasible strategies for engaging structurally vulnerable populations in healthcare co-design.
The project will focus on:
- Synthesizing evidence, local insights, and best practices to inform co-design methods
- Developing implementation-ready frameworks, partner models and starter toolkits that can be applied in real program contexts
- Contributing to strategies that improve equitable access and meaningful engagement in healthcare initiatives
This placement is ideal for master’s students interested in public health, health policy, social innovation, community engagement, or organizational design who are passionate about equity and inclusive program design.
Responsibilities
The intern will work collaboratively with SE Foundation and program stakeholders to:
- Conduct research and environmental scans of best practices in equitable engagement and co-design with structurally vulnerable populations
- Gain local insights through internal interviews of key informants
- Synthesize evidence and insights into actionable frameworks and models
- Support development of practical, ethically-informed strategies and recommendations for program implementation
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to identify feasible approaches for co-design
- Prepare reports, briefs, and presentations for leadership and stakeholders
- Contribute fresh perspectives on inclusive practices and engagement strategies
- Identify opportunities to scale successful co-design approaches across programs

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Public Health, Social Innovation, Health Policy, or related field
- Strong interest in equity, inclusion, and co-design methodologies
- Experience conducting research, synthesizing evidence, and developing frameworks
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for engaging diverse teams and stakeholders
- Passion for improving health equity and access in practical program contexts
