Project Summary
The Sustainability / Green Practices Intern will support the SE Solutions Lab in advancing SE Health’s Green Practices & Sustainable Operations initiative.
This placement focuses on building the foundational year for SE Health’s commitment to net-zero emissions by 2035, including:
- Establishing baseline metrics and evidence to inform sustainability strategy
- Supporting the development of an early roadmap for green operations
- Conducting research, analysis, and engagement activities to embed sustainability across health-care operations
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify practical, innovative solutions
This role is ideal for master’s students interested in applied sustainability, climate action, health systems, and organizational change, who want to make a tangible impact on sustainable operations within a social enterprise.
Responsibilities
The intern will collaborate with the Solutions Lab and internal partners to:
- Conduct research on sustainability best practices, benchmarks, and industry standards relevant to health-care operations
- Support collection and analysis of baseline operational and environmental data
- Assist in developing implementation-ready frameworks and roadmaps to advance net-zero goals
- Engage with cross-functional teams to explore opportunities for embedding sustainability into everyday operations
- Develop presentations, reports, and insights for leadership and stakeholders
- Contribute innovative ideas and solutions for green practices, operational efficiency, and organizational change

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Environment, Sustainability, Health Systems, Public Policy, or related field

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse teams
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working independently and in a dynamic environment
- Passion for driving practical sustainability and organizational impact
